Figure Legend Snippet: River discharge characteristics for the US Geological Survey (USGS) gages used in the analysis. Summer (June, July and August) discharge was correlated with the summer normalized difference wetness index (NDWI) and spring snowfall (March–June) for the riparian reach adjacent to each gage, using the Spearman correlation. Temporal trends were quantified using the Mann–Kendall test for trends. Percentage discharge consumed and diverted is from the 2014 Water Plan ( DNRC, 2014 ). JJA: June, July and August. SON: September, October and November.
